I just spoke to my mom about this tea pouring business and she said that I wouldn't have to pour the tea - just hand it to my elders. Like that makes it better.

In Chinese wedding tradition, the bride and groom always kneels in front of their elders and pours them a cup of tea as a mark of respect. I'm the youngest in my maternal side (mom has 4 siblings) and the second youngest on my paternal side ( dad has 5 siblings). So I was thinking... if I were to get married and not carry through with my plans of eloping, I would have to pour 30 cups of tea - and that doesn't include the family count for the groom's side of the family. That's too much tea.
