I finally sucked it up and went to the doctor. I have strep throat. He said very pointedly that if I had come earlier it would have been caught sooner...So, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to bed and feel sorry for myself. =)

Um, well I guess it is logical that, had you gone sooner, it would have been caught sooner. The question is, could it have been treated any more easily then than it will now? From the way he asked it, it seems the fault of yours is that you waited longer than necessary to get the same diagnosis, but it's not like the disease had mutated or is terminal now as opposed to before. I guess I'm just saying your doc sounds like a bit of a dick :)
